Vík is the southern most village in the country of Iceland, 180 km east of Reykjavik. It is a must-see when you are driving on the Ring Road. There are 3 main attractions when you are in Vík:
- Dyrhólaey – a nesting ground for many species of birds and a good place to see Reynisdrangar, the basalt sea stacks that were once trolls, according to legend
- Black Sand Beach – claimed to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world
- Reynisfjara Beach – a black pebble beach that features amazing basalt columns that inspired the Hallgrimskirkja church in Reykjavik
